***We will be listing over 200 boxes of Rare, Scarce, Unique & Hard to Find items that were obtained from The Fostoria Glass Factory in Moundsville, West Virginia, after the time of its closing. Our clients are avid collectors of Fostoria historical glass & paper memorabilia as well as other glass companies. Additionally, paper advertising & signs, factory correspondence, original catalogues, promotional materials, marketing items, Fostoria Melamine & much more DESCRIPTIONThis is a listing for a RARE Vintage FOSTORIA GLASS COMPANY #6016 Wilma Goblet. This is a SAMPLE glass. It is truly unique as it is of the NAVARRE Master Etching, which did not have a production in Yellow / Gold Tint. It is the owner's understanding that circa 1982, an order for a dozen glasses in Yellow Navarre was taken and fulfilled. This is the 13th glass, being the sample for the factory and the other 12 went to the client who custom ordered them. Other than that order, this was not a production color for the Navarre pattern. This goblet can be seen in Juanita L Williams book "Fostoria Glass Scarce, Unique & Whimsies" on page 182 and 198. It can also be seen in her book "Fostoria Glass The Elegant and Master Etchings" on page 9, 123, 206 and 207. The Navarre pattern is a combination of trailing flowers and a floral medallion with scrolls. This glass has a classic elegant style, and the pattern is attributed to Designer Edgar Bottome. This was retrieved from the glass factory design morgue after it closed. This was made by The Fostoria Glass Company in Moundsville, West Virginia, USA. It measures approximately 7 3/4" in height & 3 1/2" in diameter. This is in very nice condition with a few tiny stray bubbles from manufacturing, as seen. It is not unusual for Example & Sample items, from the factory glass morgue to have permanent writing, be unfinished, have flaws or damage as they were for factory reference.**We will be listing other prototype glasses and more NAVARRE Pattern Samples** Please look at the pictures for the best view of the item as they are part of the description. Please ask any questions before bidding. This glass weighs just under 1 pound before being packed and will weigh 1-2 pounds when properly packed for shipping & will ship USPS Insured. We ship from California 93953 and postage is calculated by the weight, size of the box and distance to the buyer. We are always happy to combine shipping whenever possible. If you don't pay, a non-paying bidder case is opened automatically by Ebay. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
